Bryce Frees is a graphic designer from Solana Beach, California who loves the consistency of surf rolling in, is amazed how much brighter the sun burns atop mountains and yearns for stories in foreign languages.
Esthetic pleasures aside; Bryce is a dedicated pragmatist with a creative approach to problem solving who will cut all cost(and design elements) down to a minimum of necessity. While starting his design and creative business Bryce packed all belongings crucial to the success of a new business into a van, gave up his house, left his glitzy job in LA, rented a cheap office space and started to work. And work. And work. Any income was immediately reinvested into the company or used to front server and prints shop fees. A diet consisting largely of bean and cheese burritos and pasta was adopted to keep costs down. All free time was spent at the kelp beds looking for fish he would later beg friends to let him BBQ at their houses, or in the ocean washing off in some form or another. Eventually Bryce's initial 5 dollar investment in his company turned into a profitable business that now sustains a good and balanced life for himself in his home town.
...and what a town it is! As you drive down the 101 admiring the surf at Georges be sure to keep an eye on the road for bicycles - there is a good chance Bryce is on one of them riding into his office for the day. Unless the waves are good; in which case Bryce is probably floating around in the line up somewhere in front of you. Well, that's if it didn't snow in the local mountains the night before because in that case Bryce probably spent the night working, chucked his smart phone in his pocket and then jumped in a buddy’s car for a morning ride at Mt. Baldy. Wherever he is you can bet he is busy being inspired by his hometowns natural beauties.
The inspiration Bryce takes from his home town explodes out of him in the form of travels to new places, talking story, botching foreign languages, scolding his computer when a PHP syntax error returns an unhelpful message, taking photos or drawing a picture. Bryce's eagerness to share his inspiration is what lead him to graphic design - through design Bryce hopes to better communicate his inspiration.
