Working with video-film-movie-creative-developer/madman Iain Harris is always a fun challenge. The first challenge is dealing with someone who is a lot smarter than most people but who thinks everyone is on his same level. That usually means long planning conversations that go late into the night and where everything is repeated at least twice. The second challenge is narrowing the creative flood of ideas that poor out of these conversations into a single stream. A stream that is recognizable as a stream or at least the concept of a stream, or at very least a blurry interpretation of water all running in the same direction. This narrowing process usually takes place in the dark corner of an all night coffee shop. Steps in the process are create, evaluate, remake, take a break, masturbate, innovate, again evaluate, the work is second rate, rejuvenate, elevate...I know that made no sense. The third and final challenge comes when the creative genius steps away from the project that you have been tirelessly working on for the last 8hours and then returns with a clear head and a taste for a clean slate. So without hesitation you clear the table only leaving scraps of your previous toil remaining and start a new. This time you work faster. The design comes naturally, Small fixes to help usability are discovered while programing, and all of a sudden the site is done.

I made this in my bed as I was falling asleep last night. I really don't know what my design goals were for this, but there is a heart in the middle so I am just going to go ahead and claim this as one of my most heart felt pieces of work. Actually, I think I just needed to design something messy.

A couple pictures of the house I am living in. The yard is always dirty, I can't scrub hard enough to get the smudges off my window, and I love it. Did I mention it is the oldest house in Venice?!

I am really stoked off European artist Morcky's work. At last week's Scion space opening he had a bunch of pieces done on newspaper plastered across a large section of the gallery's walls. He also had a bunch of black and white canvasses painted in a traditional Japanese mixed with urban street art style that was uniquely his own. Check out Morcky's work on the web by clicking here!

The opening of The Big Geezers show was last weekend at the Scion Gallery. I stepped in for a quick look around and was blown away by an amazing amount of hip art. My favorite pieces being the ones done by Morcky.(Post about Morcky coming soon) The whole scene at the opening was actually pretty entertaining, if you were not into the art the people watching, dance floor and smoking patio were more than enough to keep any critic busy. Anyways, Thanks Scion. I will see you all at the next opening.(Sometime early December?) Oh yeah the show will be up until the 29th so go check it out!

MORE SELF PROMOTION!!! Walked into work the other day and as usual a fresh copy of Daily Variety was sitting on my desk. The only difference was today's cover had a bit of my artwork on it.

Brendan Moore's photos of "the all Apache Skateboarding Team" popped up in my email inbox yesterday. Usually I delete all the promotional crap that passes by my spam filter but the Native American Skateboarders headline grabbed my attention. Brendan's photos turned out to be very clean, commercial looking, and do a great job of subtly capturing the subjects essence. View Brendan's Photos

If you are like me and you have watched every bit of video currently streaming on the web you may want to check out the behind the scenes shows over at vogue.tv. while you wait for MTV to upload the newest "Hills" episode. I just finished watching an episode of "Model.Live" and was both entertained and impressed with the show. I have no doubt that I will burn through the ten or so episodes currently posted on Vogue's site faster than Lindsey Lohan can snort an 8ball.

I have a new favorite photographer! Not quite sure how I stumbled across the work of Frank Ockenfels but I am very glad I did....Wow! I starting writing this post about a week ago, got side tracked, and then completely forgot to get back to it. Anyways, check out Frank's photos they are unforgettable! I think they are unforgettable...I don't remember.

I Check out the Kitsune Noir blog just about every other day. Up until now though I had never listened to the mixed tapes on the site. I was being stupid. Now, after listening to some of the best mixtapes I have ever heard I am enlightened. A treasure chest of soothing music gems are now at my finger tips.
