I LOVE LA from Riley Blakeway on Vimeo.
Ok one last post!

Here is picture of my new/old bike. I got it off craigslist a month or so ago and with a bit of love the thing has performed insane. This is by far the best purchase I have made in years. I save money cause I ride places, I am getting a wee bit healthier and I feel a sense of accomplishment when I ride to and from work.
Check out the radical and weird collages from Bruno Mallart. You will thank me later.
Lewis Samuels has a great bit of commentary on the whole ESPN break away tour thang that rocked the surf world last week. He actually uses his power rankings to tee off on Kelly Slater which is totally justified. Personally I have liked Kelly's openness in his feelings as of late; especially some of his forthright comments in the booth during that last couple WCT contests. However, somebody needs to keep Kelly in check other wise his word is law and we are all fucked if we take this idol worship to the next level and declare him god. Cause yeah, God can do some amazing stuff - like walk on water and carving 360's but he can also invest our sport with locusts and be a selfish fucker at times.
P.S. The punctuation in this post is based on some sorta f'ed up rules that I created for myself and makes absolutely no sense. All my English teaches just had a heart attack.

I just wanted to take a moment to share these photos of Jackie Hall as well as say what a rad person Jackie is. I never see Jackie anymore - even though I call her every time I come back into San Diego (Bitter). Still when I stumbled across a couple photos that she posed for on a slow Sunday afternoon a few years back I couldn't help but get warm and fuzzy memories of my tiny little friend of old. Jackie if you are reading this let's go get way more food than are stomachs can handle, wash the food down with a glass of wine and than be lazy.
A weird painter(Alex Pardee) and actor(Shia LaBeouf) collaboration create this even weirder viral. Kinda funny, but mostly just weird. Thanks Juxtapoz for weirding me out.
The LA times wrote a little piece about the struggling surf industry of today. It is a pretty good read and talks a bunch about Quicksilver's problems, which were all the gossip a couple months ago, in the current financial market. If anybody can find a link to recent commercial starring Bob McKnight I would love to attach it to this post.
Just when I thought the political deviants in the white house had enough raping and pillaging of the world for their own personal gain I got a very upsetting email detailing yet another evil plan of the Bush administration. See below:
No one voted on Election Day to hand over Utah's Redrock
wilderness to oil companies. But the Bush Administration chose that very day to
advance an outrageous plan that will sell off leases for some
160,000 acres of spectacular Utah canyonlands to oil and gas
speculators.
Please register your own opposition right now:The auction of Redrock country will take place on December 19.
At stake are world-renowned vistas near Canyonlands and Arches
National Parks, as well as near Dinosaur National Monument. The
highest bidders will earn the right to turn vast tracts of
pristine wilderness into potential wastelands. It's bad enough that government officials went behind the backs of the
American people with this. But what's worse, they didn't even telltheir own National Park Service until after the fact.
Send your own message of opposition to:
The site on this link will automatically send copies of your message to your two
senators, your representative and to the Obama transition team,
which has signaled their opposition to this disastrous auction of park land. The Bush Administration is racing to complete the auction of our
lands before Inauguration Day, which will make sales difficult
to reverse.

1. My Mom provided me with this desk. I love how tall the desk is. I can stand up at it while I type a quick email or use a stool to sit down when I really need to dig into work. The wall of by the desk contains half finished art projects, Magazine clippings, foreign currency, Web design tutorials, photos of friends, and a bunch of other crap taped and pinned up in no particular order or manner. Except for the stack of parking tickets piling up on the left corner of the desk this is the perfect work area.
2. I found this bed on the side of the road while going to check the waves about 3 years ago and have been sleeping on it comfortably ever since. The bed is just a mattress thrown on the ground but it is a great place to snuggle in the morning under three very warm comforters, lay on my back while I fiddle with my guitar, read a book before falling asleep, or sit cross legged on while thumbing through important documents like the latest issue of Surfer Magazine. The bed gets more use than any other object in this room...I think of different uses for my bed daily.
3. Books, books, and more books! I used to give my Mom a lot of shit for her large book collection, but now, after amassing a bit of a collection myself, I feel like a bit of a hypocrite. The collection contains a bunch books by beat writer like Ginsberg, Burroughs, and Kerouac I bought on ebay, some amazing Vonnegut that was given to me by a cute little girl, a bunch of school books, and a few art books that make my room look cultured.
4. My new/old slide projector that I use to view pictures of past surf trips, funny snapshots of friends and other sentimental images. I am actually projecting an image of the grasslands along the Montana/Canada border and listening to jazz on my Great Gramma's old radio right now.
5. This is work area number two. I keep all my camera equipment here, a bunch of magazines, and about thirty arts and crafts projects that will never be finished. There is also a big window that looks out at the bus station in front of my house. Sometimes I feel creepy sitting and looking at the people as they wait for there particular line.
6. I own two framed photos. One is of a wave from a really fun trip to Panama the other is of a quail that I bought in Nova Scotia for 25 cents at a garage sale. For some reason framed pictures convey a sense of permanence to me. I like that the only two framed pictures I have are of places I traveled.

A couple pictures of the house I am living in. The yard is always dirty, I can't scrub hard enough to get the smudges off my window, and I love it. Did I mention it is the oldest house in Venice?!

Just found this way cool video over at my bro Tim Ryan's blog. I figured I would introduce him to the re-blog and I stole his shit. So watch this video on my site then cruise over to his site because you feel sorry for him. Chances are you will end up being very impressed by some Tim's video production work. I especially like the tennis commercials he just finished up. Also check out Tim's Reel here.
Writer Will Smart has a 360 degree photo slide show of his office posted on his web site. So if you wanna see the office of the man who is single handedly keeping the post it note business alive click here. Bye the way, Will Self is an English author who writes...well some weird stuff. For a better explanation of Will Self's writings click here.... or here...
A video of a bunch of skinny, white boys from Malibu confronting a group of paparazzi was released on TMZ a couple days ago. Apparently, the surfers were trying to protect Mathew McConaughey from the soul stealing photographers. If you can't tell I think this is ridiculous. Personally I have no problem with surf localism and I think people should show respect when visiting others beaches. However, in this case I don't get the surfers point. Mathew McConaughey is a kook, I don't care if he hangs with Slater, and the waves were three foot and mushy...oh yeah you bunch of dorks you are surfing in LA so any type of localism is opening yourself up to corny point break name calling insults. Johny Utah is gonna kick your ass!!!
