Here is another VBS video I stumbled upon profiling artist Cai Guo-Qiang. How can you not like a guy's art that is this explosive explosive - he uses gun powder to paint both on canvasses and in the sky. My favorite project of his would be 'Heads On.' It's a bunch of wolves jumping into a glass wall. I am also a big fan of his more subtle gun powder painting - wouldn't ming having one of these in my mansion some day.
Let me just start by saying, "I love web TV."
More and more often I find myself setting down my actual television remote and powering up my computer in search of what I like to call Information Relaxation - or in other words reaching a vegetative state through entertainment. Long story short I watch a lot of TV on the web now. I also tweet, search for jobs, look up recipes, check out photographers work and just generally multi-task the fuck out of my relaxation times. Sometimes I can't tell if I am relaxing, working or just processing information because that is what I have slowly been programmed to do.
This morning while I started my daily processes, cup of tea in hand, I came across a well done little video profile of Ray Kurzweil on VBS. Ray Believes that humans and machines will become completely merged by 2045.
P.S. No conclusions are ever come to at this blog - so watch the movie and come to your own conclusions.
I used to play with trains as kid. TAR Productions just shot a video about surfers playing on real trains in Europe. I think Europe is pretty neat. There are a lot of hot girls in Europe. Mix all these random facts together and you get my child hood fantasies being acted out in an adult manner. No clue what I am talking about - see here to clarify.
Please go to the TAR Productions web site and then hire Tim Ryan for all your video, film, editing and creative needs.
His website is a work in progress (sorry Tim, we will finish it up one day), but his work is fine tuned. They also have some nuts creativity coming out there office. In fact there was so much creativity overflowing from the TAR Productions offices Kobe Bryant and Ryan Sheckler decided to steal a bit to use on their own commercials.
Also, Tim is pretty funny. He sent me an inappropriate Viagra ad that I opened up at work in front of my boss yesterday. Thanks Tim!
Tim is also the only person that reads this blog so I can rant on here about him for hours and nobody would know.
Tim stop reading now.

Well done surf trailers! I went on a couple tangents this morning regarding how lame it is to make art you are not personally invested in and then deleted those tangents from this blog immediately after realizing I have thrown away everything I have drawn for the last 5 years. I had a light bulb moment where I realized the process of creating was the interesting part - fuck what ended up on the paper - sometimes it is nice to just do shit with out thinking. After this realization I decided instead of getting all crabby, I would like to be positive and just post a couple surf movie trailers that all represent a person or persons desire to communicate and create a product they believe in.
Yeah Yeah Yeah - It is no secret I fuckin' love me some Gossip Girl.
I spend entirely to much time looking at horrible promotional materials for shitty movies(ie. STAR TRACK). Thankfully today I came across the stills for 'Antichrist' and was rejuvenated with the hope there may actually be some good movies coming out in the next couple months. Yes, I am going to see Terminator and I am very excited for '...Wild Things..' - fuck there is actually a bunch of movies I want to go see.
I also realized the Penelope Cruz's film stills can make any movie look good.
Take a look at the 'Broken Embraces' film still of her in a blonde wig and you will be panting all the way to the theaters.
Making Of is an awesome new video site that does interviews with key players in the movie making game. I just checked out the Natalie Portman interview and was very impressed by both the quality of the production and by Portman's willingness to open up to the camera. This should be a sure stop for anybody interested in the movie industry.

Seth, the roomate from hell(he really likes skulls and encourages people to do bad things = must be from hell), was showing me a new LA based video site he will be working on a couple projects with in the future. The site is called By Osmosis and features a bunch of artist videos free on the web. Partnerships with artist organizations like Beautiful/ Decay have already garnered quality talent like Aaron Noble. Keep checking back cause the video Seth will be releasing in the future are probably going to step up the creative and production value to a whole new level.
Also check out out the By Osmosis Blog for cool links to places like the Conor Oberst Documentary, Ramblin Jack Elliott reviews and uber hip mixtapes.
Spike Jonze and Ty Evans no CGI action skateboard explosion short is pretty radical. Watch the video:
So, I pretty much hate the Qik cameras that Ashton is probably getting paid lots of cash to promote here, but there is something oddly intriguing about about watching behind the scenes videos of celebrities so I will hype em anyways. Personally I think it is my Voyeuristic nature that makes these videos so interesting. The shaky shots, ill balanced color temperature, random in and out points and awkward framing that are pretty much impossible to get around if you are using a Qik cam some how make Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore seem more human. It is nice to see two people, who you typically only see all done up, in their everyday environment. I would have to say I have never seen a girl looking as hot as Demi when they check their Twitter feed. Oh, just to explain how I came across these videos, I started following Ashton on Twitter on accident, He posted a link to a Demi photo shoot and I love to watch behind the scenes video of photo shoots to see what kind of cameras are being used, how many assistants are present, how many extra lights are set up just to give the impression of a big budget set and if the photographer is actually taking the photos. So, I had a reason to check out these videos - I wasn't justcreeping on Ashton Kutcher.
New York 2008 from Vicente Sahuc on Vimeo.
I found this cool video via Change the Thought. The videos description says, "Slow motion made in New York in 2008 with a cheap casio camera." I did a bit of research and I am guessing the cheap Casio is the Exilim EX-FH20. If I am wrong let me know. This camera sounds pretty cool: up to forty frames a second burst rate, shoots hd video up to a thousand frames a second, interchangeable lenses(didn't notice who is making the glass so quality glass could be desirable) - I think the retail price is only about $600 dollars!
I stumbled across this super hip animated video on youtube this morning...the message isn't to bad, and the concept of a 14 year old boy interviewing a media superstar on a complicated subject such as peace is pretty cool to.
"In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace. 38 years later, Jerry has produced a film about it. Using the original interview recording as the soundtrack, director Josh Raskin has woven a visual narrative which tenderly romances Lennon's every word in a cascading flood of multipronged animation. Raskin marries the terrifyingly genius pen work of James Braithwaite with masterful digital illustration by Alex Kurina, resulting in a spell-binding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit, and timeless message."
